India lives in villages. The development of the nation is driven by the villages. For this the villages have to attain self reliance. The main asset of our villages are Agriculture and Cows. Both are inter dependent. Home industries have to develop to achieve overall progress of the villages. But we have not developed interest in this as yet. Because of this attitude the villages have not developed in India and have become dependent on external support. Deeply concerned by the sufferings of our farmers, depleting natural resources, degradation of soil, increasing deceases, shortage of water etc. made our Swamiji think of long lasting solutions to these social ailments and thus he announced the project ‘Gavyamrutha’.

Under the project ‘Gavyamrutha’ importance will be given for taking-up Organic farming, Water conservation, organizing, study of Indigenous farming, guidance, market development, supply of indigenous breeds of cattle to the farmers etc. More such project will be taken-up under these thoughts and direction in future. ‘Amrutha Sathva’ and ‘Akshaya Jeevana’ are a few such project which has been already initiated in this regard.
