Genesis of the project: Shree. S.K. Pandit, spending all his life's earnings collected and preserved about 2 Lakh volumes of books covering a wide range of disciplines in different subjects and languages. He also founded Ramanath Pandith Centre for Fundamental Research in India Theartre.
Now, being of advanced age, he has beenlooking for some one who could shoulder the responsibility of preserving and utilising his gigantic collection of books and materials.
Finding such a person in the Pontif of Shree Ramachandrapura Math, he appealed to him to take care of his wealth. The discussion followed between the two resulted in the lunching of a joint project to be executed by the two trusts mentioned above.
Aims and objectives of the project:
1. Making the books and materials available to the bonafide users in a systematic way by means of establishing well equipped libraries at several places.
2. Encouraging study and research in disciplines such as Philosophy, Music, Dance, Dharma, Cinematic, Ayurveda, Astrology and Ancient lore.
3. Providing necessary infrastructure for activities instituted by the centre including an in-House Institution.
4. Extending the activities of the centre to the different branches of the Math.
The achievements:
1.The foundation stone for a building was laid at Talegaon on 9-7-2003, in the 25 cent land granted by the Govt.of Maharastra.
2. About 60,000 journals/ books have been brought to the Teerthahalli branch of the Shree Math.All the necessary Facilities for establishing a well equipped library are provided in the Math.
3. For the purpose of expansion of the activities of the project, sufficient land and other facilities are available at shree Ramachandrapura Math premises at Hosanagara.
The immediate and urgent need :
1.Construction of building for libraries .
2. Providing accommodation and other such facilities for bonafide users.
3.Construction of community hall and a Gurubhavan at Talegaon.
4. Appointment of staff and Accommodation for the staff etc.,
Financial outlay: The full implimentation of the project is expected to involve a financial outlay of the project is expected to involve a financial outlay of Rs. 1.25 crores and the completion of the stage will require about Rs. 25 Lakhs.
What you can do:
While laying the foundation stone for the first building at Talegaon , His Holiness, in his benedictory address said " let this treasure of knowledge and wisdom spread everywhere and reach the coming generation ".It is up to you to make it a reality.
