The world famous ivory throne
The Ivory throne, the only one in the
entire world is very elegant and the most valuable asset
of the Shree Math. This throne was built in the era of the
34th Swamiji Shree Ramachandra Bharathi. This is made out
of the ivory of the pet elephant of the 33rd Swamiji Shree
Raghaveshwara Bharathi Swamiji. The throne is the symbol
of loyalty and affection for which the elephant was famous.
This is a unique throne due to its design and elegance and
depicts the Ramayana and Mahabharatha pictures on it.
The
throne was carved by the Gudigara Hiranyappa of Soraba with
the assistance of 9 other artisans and it took them about
18 long years of hard work to complete the same. No wonder,
this throne is one of the rarest art collection in the world.
